HE KHAN'T BEAT ME

Amir Khan urges ‘broken and slurring’ Kell Brook to retire and rules out fight as he’d ‘hurt’ him

AMIR KHAN has urged “broken and slurring” Kell Brook to retire from boxing.

Boxing fans have wanted a fight between the two Brits for years but it looks to be further away than ever from happening.

Amir Khan has told rival Kell Brook to retire from boxing

Khan says he doesn’t have any interest in fighting his Sheffield rival as he doesn’t want to “give him any more punishment” and he would “hurt him”.

The two are both promoted by Matchroom and Eddie Hearn – but Khan joining the stable back in January 2018 hasn’t moved a Brook clash any nearer.

Speaking on the , the Bolton man said: “He should get in line. Kell Brook, I really feel he should retire.

“I don’t want to fight him, give him a beating and hurt him.”

Brook suffered serious eye injuries from his fights with Gennady Golovkin and then Errol Spence Jr.

Since those two losses Brook has won his last two, against Sergey Rabchenko and Michael Zerafa, but looked well off his best.

BROOK’S EYE INJURIES

And Khan believes that Brook is just using his name to stay relevant.

He added: “He should retire because he’s had two eye sockets broken, he’s already slurring. He’s been beaten up basically.

“Kell has nothing exciting going for him, that’s why he keeps calling my name out and living off the back of that.

“It happens in boxing that boxers use other big names to give themselves a big name or keep them relevant.

“So I just feel that if the fight happens, it happens and he would get hurt.

“Boxing is a tough sport, especially when someone is already broken. I don’t want to be giving any more punishment to him.
