Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao rematch needs to happen as it is ‘will help boxing’ – says legend Sugar Ray Leonard
FLOYD MAYWEATHER should come out of retirement and rematch Manny Pacquiao as it would "help boxing" - according to one legend of the sport.
Former five-weight world champion Sugar Ray Leonard thinks, despite both men being in their 40s, that it would "be a great fight".
Pacquiao rolled back the years in some style in his last fight as he outpointed previously undefeated Keith Thurman to win the WBA welterweight world title.
Mayweather, meanwhile, retired from boxing after beating Conor McGregor to reach 50 wins and no defeats in a stunning career.
The two boxers finally met in the ring in 2015 after years of wrangling for what was billed the "fight of the century".
However it proved to be a damp squid as Mayweather put on a masterclass to easily outpoint his Filipino rival.
PHENOMENAL PACQUIAO
Despite the fight turning into a snoozefest, Sugar Ray wants Part II.
He told : "It'd be a great fight. Put it this way, it should be done. People will watch it.
"It's two guys in their 40s. When I was 40, I came back, I don't know who it was against, but you had a different stage in your life, spiritually, physically, mentally.
"He (Pacquiao) looked phenomenal (in his last fight).";
SunSport reported that Mayweather, who calls himself "The Money", has been crowned the greatest boxer of all time.

The retired 50-0 king is ranked miles ahead of second-placed Pacquiao in the table from respected boxing site BoxRec.
Mayweather, 42, from Michigan, US, never lost during his 21-year professional career and his ranking at the top of the pile is another jab at his fierce rival from the Philippines.
