Watch Justin Rose hit ‘worst shank ever’ at The Open as torrential downpour causes havoc

JUSTIN ROSE hit “the worst shank ever” during the final round of The Open as players struggled in torrential rain.

Englishman Rose was hitting his third shot to the par 4 ninth when he caught one off the hosel and saw it go virtually sideways.

Television cameras were not even able to pick up where the ball finished.

Rose, who dropped to four under par after making double bogey on the hole, dropped his club and turned his back in disgust after the absolute shocker.

And viewers were equally stunned at the world N0 4’s amateur mistake.

One said: “Wow. Justin Rose with the biggest shank I’ve ever seen on the 9th.”

Another posted: “Watching Justin Rose shank that pitch has me thinking I could be on tour. I do that s*** all the time.”

A fellow user said: “Justin Rose just hit a flat out shank. Full hosel rocket. Lot of wet golf clubs… this is going to be brutal.”
