Chalmers, who revealed all about his battle with anxiety and depression to Sun Sport last week, was cheered on by his girlfriend Talia Oatway and his reality TV friends at Wembley Arena.

And after sharing a warm embrace with them following his win he was asked about his critics by the media.

Chalmers said: “How many fights has Paul Daley been in? 60 fights? He said to me, ‘Aaron, a year ago I did an interview and said you were the real deal, everyone says you’re not a real fighter’.

“If I’m not a real fighter, why am I on the biggest card in the UK? “If you’re not a real fighter how can sell out Newcastle, twice, London three times and Birmingham?

“But I’m not a real fighter?

“If I’m not a real fighter in Bellator, then what are these fighters that are following us?

“I can never be accepted by certain members of MMA, but… f*** it. I get paid well.”

Chalmers' MMA record now stands at 5-1 after his triumph over Freeman.

And he already has his sights set on his next fight.

The Newcastle-born ace went on to reveal his hopes of being involved on planned upcoming Bellator shows in both Milan, Italy and Newcastle before the turn of the year.
