Loved-up Jo Konta’s run to French Open semi-final has seen her binge on romcoms in Paris apartment with her boyfriend
JO KONTA hopes to prolong her adventure in the City of Love — thanks to bingeing on Netflix romcoms!
The British No 1 will be in the French Open final here in Paris if she can beat Czech teenager Marketa Vondrousova in her semifinal tomorrow.
Konta's match has been put back 24 hours because yesterday's schedule at Roland Garros was completely washed out.
The 28-year-old has been staying in a low-key apartment — not a designated players' hotel — which does not have a TV.
So Konta and her , have spent their evenings cuddled up on the sofa with Will Smith and Cameron Diaz, watching untaxing romantic-comedy films on their iPad.
Konta laughed and said: "I've enjoyed the routine of going back to the flat and making some food.
"We have also been watching some movies on Netflix, which has been fun. What films? Oh gosh, a bunch. We have made our way through all the romcoms possible, really light-hearted stuff.
"We watched — which Jackson hadn't seen before and we both loved it.
"Also, , a whole bunch of romcoms.
"Jackson proper enjoys them. He was choosing most of them!"
STAYING IN
The loved-up couple have not been out much or seen the Parisian sights, mainly because Konta was suffering with a cold in the first week of the tournament.
She said: "It was more of a priority not to expend energy where I didn't need to and also stay away from germs as much as possible. I was a germ myself at the time."
Konta has been transformed on clay this year and her mindset is rock solid since hooking up with new French coach Dimitri Zavialoff.
The Brit, playing in her 22nd Major, will have significantly more experience than 19-year-old Vondrousova, plus the benefit of having played in two previous Grand Slam semi-finals.
Disappointingly, on both occasions — the 2016 Australian Open and Wimbledon two years ago — Konta failed to win a set.
As far as the bookies are concerned, Konta will start as the favourite against Vondrousova.
Konta beat the teenager 6-3 3-6 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the Italian Open last month. But try telling Konta she is not the underdog any more.

She added: "Being the favourite — that's always an external opinion.
"The landscape of our tour is not that black and white, with the underdog and one person expected to win. There's a lot of grey — more grey than black and white.
"I lost to Vondrousova last year at Indian Wells but beat her two weeks ago. Whoever I play, I go into the match 50-50."
