Anneliese Thompson looks after 95 dogs every day and finds her job incredibly rewarding, even though she admits it is not a typical career path for an attractive, young woman
SHE surely is the sexiest greyhound trainer in the UK.
Anneliese Thompson, 27, brings glamour back to the track... and prefers dogs to people.
Based in Doncaster, Thompson takes care of some 95 dogs every day, preparing them for races in Nottingham.
She is aware that it is not a job people normally expect her to do upon seeing her.
Most of them probably expect she would rather be gracing catwalks than going on dog walks.
And in fact, Thompson insists, nor was it the career path she expected to follow.
She told : ";It is true that sometimes I get a few looks.
"I can be on a night out and someone might ask me what I do for a living, and when I tell them they never believe me.
"It is traditionally an older man with flat cap-type sport, so I definitely stand out from what people are used to seeing."
Thompson is a woman of many passions.
Her body covered in tattoos, she does not shy away from putting a tracksuit on and heading off for a stress-reliving kickboxing session.
But greyhound training is what Thompson finds especially rewarding, claiming it was love at first sight when she gave it a go ten years ago.
She added : "I was 17 and working in a suit-fitting shop and I hated it.
"My dad Ron Thompson was well known as a greyhound trainer and I asked him to give me a few weeks’ work.
"I absolutely loved it, and it’s 10 years on now and I haven’t looked back.
"To be honest, sometimes I love dogs more than people. It is such a rewarding job."
