Watch as Gerwyn Price and Daryl Gurney almost come to blows in heated confrontation on oche after Premier League Darts clash

Michael van Gerwen says feuding foes behaved 'like kids' after security were forced to intervene

DARTS legend Michael van Gerwen says Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price behaved “like kids” after their oche spat.

The two men played out a 2-2 draw in the Sheffield Premier League match when security were forced to intervene following the heated argument.

Price claims the Northern Irishman accused him of talking during his throw – but the Iceman fiercely denied any wrongdoing.

That led to the two men coming together on-stage as tensions threatened to boil over.

And World No 1 Van Gerwen appeared to love every bit of it, and even attempted to stir things up backstage afterwards.

The 30-year-old Dutchman told Live Darts: “They’re like kids, isn’t it?. Who’s going to be in the top four?

“For them they’re fighting for it, every leg counts for them at the moment.

“Things like that happen, unfortunately, but I’m glad I’m not in that position.”

He added: “Yes [I laughed when I saw it], and I did a little stir up.”

The match was a huge one for both Gurney and Price as they look to secure a place in the semi-finals.

MVG and Rob Cross have already qualified, but the draw left both the feuding foes outside of the top four with just a week of the campaign remaining.

They will now both have to pick up points in Leeds next week and hope for other results to go there way.

The pair face already-eliminated opponents with Price playing Peter Wright and Gurney taking on Michael Smith.
