REAL MADRID stopper Keylor Navas has been offered to Manchester United as they continue their contract standoff with David de Gea, according to reports.

The Costa Rican has spent much of the season on the bench having played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois.

Zinedine Zidane's reappointment in March saw the 31-year-old come back into the starting XI but only for six matches until Courtois returned from a hamstring injury.

The French manager is plotting a clear out of his own at the Bernabeu following a hugely disappointing campaign.

And Navas could fall victim because he wants a regular first-team action.

After winning three Champions League titles and La Liga, Real Madrid are willing to fulfil his desires to let him enjoy the final stages of his career at a different club.

According to , Navas has been offered to the red half of Manchester who have a goalkeeping issue of their own.

They are still waiting to hear on the future of De Gea who is mulling over a new £350,000-a-week contract.

If he refuses to put pen-to-paper, then United will likely cash in on the out-of-form Spaniard or risk losing him for nothing in 12 months time.

United's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League is believed to be making a huge impact on his decision whether to remain at the club.

Navas, who recently stepped up transfer speculation by hiring agent Jorge Mendes, would not be willing to go to United and switch one substitute bench for another.
