Romantic MMA fighter ‘blows fiancee away’ by asking her to marry him with knee tattoo

AN MMA fighter won’t forget his wedding proposal in a hurry – even if he wants to – after popping the question with a tattoo on his knee.

Vince Murdock, 28, was trying to think of a unique way to propose to girlfriend Kira Feightner following a whirlwind romance which only started in March 2017.

The American, who has 12 wins on the MMA stage, was sitting in a tattoo parlour when he had a light bulb moment.

He decided to get the words “Will you marry me?” with a yes and no box underneath on his left knee.

Murdock had managed to hide the tattoo from his other half since May last year before eventually exposing it on a hike.

He blamed injury for the tape across his leg and avoided arousing his 25-year-old girlfriend’s suspicions.

And when his friends recommended him the perfect spot to get down on one knee, Murdock knew it was his time.

Speaking to the , he said: “I was wracking my brain trying to come up with something great and I was in the chair getting another tattoo when I thought of it.

The fact that he will have the tattoo forever is so special.

“I thought it would be cool to get a tattoo that said ‘will you marry me’ with a box to check ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

“I was incredibly nervous. We were hiking for about a half an hour and I was looking for the perfect spot. I was building up the courage to ask her and then I would chicken out.’

“Eventually I just told Kira that the spot we were at was perfect for the picture. I had a really great speech prepared but I forgot everything.

“I told her to rip the tape off my knee and she didn’t even hear me. I had to repeat myself. Eventually I screamed ‘Rip off the tape!’ It was very manly.

“When she ripped it off, I don’t even think she saw the tattoo.

“I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me and thankfully she said yes.”

Feightner added: “I will treasure the video forever. The week after the proposal I watched it so many times and I cried.

“His proposal blew me away. He loves tattoos so this proposal really falls into place for him. It was so memorable.

“The fact that he will have the tattoo forever is so special.”
