Paris ePrix: Pascal Wehrlein demoted to last after securing pole position
German's fast lap was taken away after a tyre pressure infringement
PASCAL WEIHRLEIN was demoted to the back of the grid after qualifying on pole.
The German and his Mahindra teammate Jerome D'Ambrosio were pushed to the back of the grid after a tyre pressure infringement.
Mahindra's error means Brit Oliver Rowland will start at the front alongside his Nissan teammate Sebastien Buemi.
Virgin driver Robin Frijns is third with Massa qualifying in fourth in the same week of his 38th birthday
This is Rowland's second pole position of the season in his rookie season after being fastest in Sanya.
'BOUNCE BACK'
Weihrlein was optimistic after qualifying before his time was stripped just 30 minutes before the race.
Weihrlein said: "Really happy, a big improvement from the whole team, a strong performance.
Also Jerome [D'Ambrosio] was also in Super Pole, so they have done an amazing job.
"The last few races were a bit more difficult, so we are really happy to bounce back here
"Now we have to finish the job in the race."

QUALIFYING BUG
Defending champion Jean-Eric Vergne and British title contender Sam Bird both start outside of the top ten after heavily criticising the season's qualifying format.
Parisian Vergne starts his home race in 14th ahead of Bird in 15th.
Both drivers struggled in group 2 after previously complaining about the difficulties and drawbacks of previously being the first on track in Group 1 in previous races.
