BBC viewers fume as World Snooker Championship coverage goes down… and is replaced by re-run of Coast
The worldwide feed froze during the 12th frame of Neil Robertson’s match with Shaun Murphy
SNOOKER fans have blasted the BBC after live Crucible action was replaced by an episode of COAST!
At 11.12am, the worldwide feed suddenly froze during the 12th frame of Neil Robertson’s match with Shaun Murphy in the morning session of the .
A BBC presenter apologised for the break in the programme but explained there was “technical problem” which they are trying to fix as soon as possible.
The problem continued for the next five minutes and the presenter added: “I am sorry about this.
“We have a technical fault which means at the moment we cannot continue with the snooker coverage from the Crucible.
“I am a snooker fan as well as you – I have been enjoying this match with Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy.
“Unfortunately, we have a technical issue which means we cannot continue with the pictures or sound from Sheffield. Behind-the-scenes we are doing what we can to fix the fault. Sorry about this.”
TV producers then decided to switch to a repeat of the popular Coast series.
The snooker was off screen for 14 minutes in total before eventually coming back on.
This is just laughable, get the snooker back on for goodness sake
One angry BBC viewer

Joshua Howarth tweeted: "@BBC we all knew you were c*** anyway but this is just laughable, get the snooker back on for goodness sake. Joke of a broadcasting company. #WorldSnookerChampionship.”

Cookashes766 joked: "What going on there is no snooker on bbc 2, online as they decided to stop coverage because of no Ronnie O'Sullivan on it."
However, the Coast programme lasted only NINE minutes before they returned to the Crucible with the 12th frame still going on.
BBC snooker pundit John Virgo: “Sorry about that. We had a power cut. You haven’t missed much except a few mistakes in the frame.”
