England star Ben Youngs hands Red Rose World Cup scare after shoulder surgery ends season

BEN YOUNGS has handed England a World Cup scare after shoulder surgery ended his season.

The Leicester Tigers scrum-half has been struggling since the end of the Six Nations.

And the relegation-threatened club confirmed he needed an operation this week and won't play again this season.

That means England boss Eddie Jones has NO fit scrum half as it stands after no.2 Dan Robson was sidelined with blood clots in his leg.

Neither of the No 9s have an expected date on their return as it stands and England's first World Cup camp is booked in for the end of June for players not involved in the Premiership play-offs.
