Throughout his illustrious rowing career, Matthew reportedly earned roughly £1million. He has since enjoyed success as a broadcaster and commentator. Although information is limited, said in 2021 his net worth was somewhere between £1million and £3.5million. Pinsent has been working for the BBC as a pundit during the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Who is Sir Matthew Pinsent's wife Demetra?
Matthew, 53, met Demetra, 50, when he was coaching the Oxford women's Boat Race eights in 1998.
He reportedly slipped her his phone number and the rest is history — they married in 2002. After claiming another Olympic gold medal at Athens 2004, Matthew retired from competitive racing with a view to starting a family, with the couple's twin sons Jonah and Lucas born in 2006, and daughter Eve arriving in 2008. Speaking about his priorities in 2015, Matthew told the Daily Mail: "To provide for our twin sons, who are nine this year, and our daughter, who is seven.
"I think you’d struggle to find any parent who’d say anything else.
"I’m not talking about saving money for them, just making sure they’re comfortable and well-brought up. That’s the key."

How old is Sir Matthew Pinsent?
Matthew is 53 years old and was born in Holt, Norfolk in 1970. He attended Aysgarth School in North Yorkshire before he began rowing at Eton College. Matthew has royal ancestry, being directly descended from Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and thus from King Edward I and William the Conqueror.
How many Olympic gold medals has Sir Matthew Pinsent won?
Matthew has won four Olympic gold medals. In 1992 in Barcelona and 1996 in Atlanta, he teamed up with five-time gold medalist Sir Steve Redgrave to win the coxless pair. In 2000, Matthew and Redgrave were in the same boat again as they won the coxless four with James Cracknell and Tim Foster.
He then picked up his fourth gold at Athens 2004 in the coxless four with Cracknell, Steve Williams and Ed Coode. Matthew is also a two-time Boat Race winner, having triumphed with Oxford in 1990 and 1991.
