Valtteri Bottas says target of shocking X-rated rant after Australian GP win will know who they are
Finn beat team-mate Lewis Hamilton to win season-opener before delivering a foul-mouthed blast over the team's radio
VALTTERI BOTTAS has revealed the reason behind his F-word rant after his victory in the Australian GP.
The Finn beat Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton to win the season-opener in Melbourne before delivering a foul-mouth blast over the team's radio.
After crossing the line first in Melbourne, he said: "To whom it may concern, f*** you".
It was out-of-character for the mild-mannered Finn, believed to be aimed at those who have questioned whether he should have kept his seat at Mercedes after a winless 2018.
However, when quizzed if the message was for anyone in particular, Bottas said: "It would be quite a long list, unfortunately, that's how it goes.
"I'm sure the people to who it was, they would know it.
"It just came, I just wanted to send my best regards. That's it. Honestly, I didn't think about it or plan it, it just came.
"Obviously there are many people who support you, and honestly I appreciate that a lot.
"There are many people around me, supporting me.
