Manchester United hero Marcus Rashford kicks up a storm with neighbours over plans to build a huge wall outside his mansion

MANCHESTER UNITED hero Marcus Rashford has kicked up a storm with neighbours over his plans to build a massive wall outside his mansion.
The Red Devils forward, 21, wants a two metre barrier with electric gates outside his £1.2million five-bed pile in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
But locals say the huge gates could cause a crash as they would open right onto the busy road blocking it off to traffic.
A source said: “Marcus may be a hero for United fans right now after his stunning performance in Paris, but that doesn’t mean anything to his neighbours.
“He managed to get past the PSG keeper to clinch the win but it doesn’t look like he’s going to get past his council’s planning committee.”
The young England ace has also angered tree experts with the plans who fear the wall could cause damage to a nearby protected lime tree.
East Cheshire Council has recommended refusal “on the grounds of there being sufficient space for a vehicle to be accommodated off the highway whilst waiting for the gates to open.”
A neighbour wrote to planning chiefs: “I assume that the gates will be set back from the road and pavement so as not to avoid obstruction on this busy highway.”
It comes after highflying school boy Yousef Makki, 17, was knifed to death just yards from Rashford’s teammate Paul Pogba’s home.
The stabbing was just a stone throw’s away from Rashford’s village in upmarket Hale Barns, Cheshire, a popular spot for United players.
Rashford has been stepping up security at his three-storey mansion since a series of “away day” raids on teammates last year.
The Sun on Sunday revealed rival Man City star Raheem Sterling was targeting by burglars at his mansion in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, last September.
And masked raiders were spotted targeting David Beckham’s house in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, last October.
Council chiefs are expected to make a final decision later this month after carrying out a site visit at the player’s home in December.
Rashford launched his own business - Mucs Properties - in 2017 and also owns a £1.8million pad in nearby Bowden.
