Manny Pacquiao confirms he is in talks with Mayweather over mega-money rematch

Two boxing legends fought back in 2015, with Mayweather coasting a points decision victory

MANNY PACQUIAO has confirmed he IS in negotiations to fight Floyd Mayweather for a second time.

The Filipino boxer is desperate to avenge his defeat to the American when the two clashed back in 2015.

Still is to this day it is the most lucrative boxing match in the history of combat sports, creating £470 million in pay-per-view and gate receipts.

Mayweather was able to get the win via a unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao defended his WBA world welterweight title against Floyd’s friend Adrien “The Problem” Broner with a unanimous decision in January.

And is now hoping to finally sort a rematch against his old foe.

Speaking to , Pac Man said: “The negotiations are ongoing.

“There will be updates one to two weeks from now.”

And Pacquiao is confident of getting the win the second time round should Mayweather agree to the fight.

He added: “If I get to fight Mayweather and make him come out of retirement, that would be better since it would give me the chance to prove that I could win this time.”

Mayweather defeated UFC legend Conor McGregor in a boxing ring, in what the American star insisted was his last fight before retirement.

It took Mayweather to 50 wins as a pro boxer – and it would be somewhat of a shock if he came back to put that on the line against Pacquiao.
