Juventus chief reveals club ‘asked Mauro Icardi about transfer’ and will consider summer move for controversial Inter striker
Argentine has demanded the San Siro side publicly apologise to him for stripping him of the captaincy or he will quit
JUVENTUS'S sporting director Fabio Paratici revealed the Italian giants "asked Mauro Icardi about a transfer" and will consider a summer move for the controversial striker.
The Inter Milan star has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro after demanding his side publicly apologise to him for stripping him of the captaincy.
Inter are adamant they do not want to sell the Argentine forward - who has also been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid.
However, Paratici revealed they enquired about signing the 25-year-old last summer but he insisted they have had no contact with Icardi since his public falling-out.
Speaking to Rai Radio1, he said: "We asked for info. We wanted to know what Icardi thinks about playing for Juve. But now there are no contacts, he's an Inter player and we are thinking about our season.
"Lately there has been no contact, we are in February, he is an Inter player and we have important races ahead of us. It's a theme that we will come back to, or not, in June."
The Old Lady heavily strengthened their forward line last summer when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo, however, the move has meant Paulo Dybala has struggled to feature.
Earlier this week, both Italian clubs were reportedly set for an incredible swap deal involving Dybala and Icardi this summer.
Max Allegri is apparently keen to bring in a poacher after loaning Gonzalo Higuain and Icardi is convinced Inter replaced him as captain so they could offload him.
The San Siro club claim there is no link between the decision to strip Icardi of the armband and the current contract stand-off.

But last week, Icardi's wife and agent Wanda's car was struck by a rock while she was driving near Inter's ground with her three children and she has also received death threats.
The Argentine's current deal expires in 2021 and last month, Wanda confirmed no offer had been made and that the striker was "far away" from agreeing fresh terms.
When all is said and done, with 122 goals in 210 games for Inter, there will be no shortage of suitors if Inter do decide to sell their prized asset.
