Cardiff City fans paid tribute to Emiliano Sala during their match with Bournemouth this weekend

NEIL WARNOCK looked like a man who was about to tell Cardiff he was done with management on Saturday night.

Warnock claims he considered quitting after Emiliano Sala’s plane ferrying him to Wales went missing over the English Channel.

Warnock, moved to tears as he was applauded from the field after Cardiff’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth, carries the look of someone who could walk away this week.

Looks like there is a big call coming.

Wan-Bissaka is impressing at full-back this season

AARON WAN-BISSAKA’S tenacious approach to defending has the same hallmarks of former England left-back Ashley Cole.

Cole loved the big reputations, cutting them down to size when he matured into one of the world’s leading left-backs during his career with Arsenal and Chelsea.

Wan-Bissaka, who kept former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel quiet during Palace’s 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, is already one of the Premier League’s leading full-backs.

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER’S unbeaten run goes far beyond his impressive start to the caretaker gig at Manchester United.

Solskjaer has not lost a competitive game of football since his Norwegian side Molde lost 3-2 to Ranheim on August 26 2018.

Sunday’s 1-0 victory at Leicester stretches his unbeaten run across two clubs to a staggering 21 games.

This six-month streak is a remarkable run, giving him confidence that he can have a serious crack at getting the job full-time.

Atkinson missed two key decisions which could have changed the course of the match

IT is sad to watch the decline of referee Martin Atkinson.

There was a time when he was comfortably the best official in English football, but his once impeccable standards are slipping.

Atkinson can be excused for failing to spot Sergio Aguero’s elbowed effort against Arsenal, but of bigger concern was his failure to spot Shkodran Mustafi wringing Aguero’s neck in the first half.

It was an obvious penalty, with Aguero being choked as he tried to connect with Kevin De Bruyne’s pass.

Atkinson missed it, ignoring the genuine appeals of Manchester City’s baffled players.

There was a time when he would have nailed a decision like that. Sadly, those days look to be behind him.

Marco Silva is under pressure after his Everton side suffered yet another defeat

MARCO SILVA’S approach to Wednesday’s clash with Manchester City will be fascinating.

The Everton locals are on his case after a dreadful showing in the 3-1 defeat against Wolves at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

Preparation time is short for Silva, but he will need to work on defending set-pieces ahead of this clash with this free-scoring City side.

Although dead balls are far down Pep’s list of priorities, Everton are turning into a soft touch under Silva.
