Ireland 20 England 32: Eddie Jones’ men storm to victory against pre-tournament favourites in Dublin

Owen Farrell captained England to a perfect start to their Six-Nations campaign

ENGLAND shocked Ireland and the Six Nations by winning in Dublin for the first time in SIX years.

Superb tries from Jonny May, Elliot Daly and a Henry Slade brace hammered the 2018 Grand Slam holders on their own patch where they hadn't lost in this tournament in 14 games.

The Red Rose will now be red-hot favourites for the Championship - having won it under Eddie Jones in 2016 and 2017.

And it could come down to a clash in Cardiff against Warren Gatland's Wales after they too won.

It took England just 95 seconds to open the scoring and nail their first try here in EIGHT years.

Captain fantastic Farrell torpedoed a big mis-pass to Daly, who drew his man and then sent May in to finish it off and beat Garry Ringrose.

England did themselves no favours when Tom Curry smashed Keith Earls with a high shot and was yellow-carded.

But seconds after Curry came back onto the pitch, Ireland were ahead through Cian Healey's short-range smash and grab after heavy pressure.

Fighting back, though, England shut-up the Aviva again when full-back Daly kicked and chased his own grubber to add a second score as Jacob Stockdale fluffed it in defence.

Farrell converted and then added a penalty on the stroke of half-time to give them a seven-point lead.

Johnny Sexton's penalty closed the gap to just four - but then came more May mayhem.

The Leicester Tigers winger kicked over the flat defence and Slade chased hard to beat the Irish to it and ground a terrific third try.

Farrell booted a 45m penalty for the underdogs and then Slade had them celebrating again soon after.

The Exeter Chief outside centre latched onto a dodgy Sexton pass in the Ireland 22 to rub salt into their wounds.

John Cooney grabbed a late consolation try for the hosts but it was too little too late.

Next up, France at Twickenham. England are back on a role again.
