Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder II set for April 27 or early May, says Frank Warren
Gypsy King ouboxed the American WBC champ but was dropped twice late on and the judges called it even
TYSON FURY vs Deontay Wilder II is set for April 27 or early May, according to the Gypsy King’s promoter Frank Warren.
The WBC heavyweight clash is also set to return to America, where the most money can be made through pay-per-view sales.
But the hall-of-fame matchmaker and the 6ft 9in former unified champ are pushing for totally neutral judges after the original bout ended in a controversial draw.
: “Negotiations are going on at the moment. As we all know, the WBC have ordered the fight to take place and if we can’t agree terms then it’s on a 60/40 basis in Wilder’s favour.
“But I expect us to agree terms, I think as we did the first time round there’s a willingness to do the fight.
“It’s the most lucrative match for Tyson, there’s more money in that than fighting [Anthony] Joshua and it’s an easier fight to make because the parties want to make it happen.
“Because you’ve got the American pay-per-view, the American pay-per-view is around $75 to $100 and that’s big numbers.
“That is where the most lucrative - I’d like it to be in England, but it takes two to tango and we’re working on that at the moment.”
Speaking on the judges for the rematch, Warren said: “That’s another part of the negotiations, it was very poor judging and we certainly don’t want to be in that position again.
“We want ALL neutral judges, we don’t want any American Judges, no British Judges - we want completely neutral judges.

“I would think the fights going to be late April - May, if we can agree terms.
When April 27th was mentioned, Warren said: “Maybe that or in May.”
“But the bottom line of all of it is, this is a real serious fight, we all saw the first one, it was exciting, it was dramatic, comeback of the year and we all want to see that rematch and I want my man to get the decision he should’ve got last time.”
