Bolton chief Anderson labels Forest Green nemesis Vince ‘one of the strangest people’ he has met
Wanderers chairman fired back at Rovers' owner for his criticism over the aborted Christian Doidge transfer

BOLTON chairman Ken Anderson has branded Forest Green Rovers’ owner Dale Vince as "one of the strangest people I have ever come across in football" in their escalating war of words.
Vince is suing Wanderers over the aborted £1million transfer of Christian Doidge — down to non-payment of £250,000 — and insisted that Anderson "didn’t give a s***’ about the club."
Anderson used his chairman’s notes column on the Bolton website to hit back and said he has ‘given them [Vince’s words] the credit they deserve and promptly dispatched them into the bin.’
He wrote: "As regards Dale l can only say that during my several telephone discussions with him, I have found him to probably be one of the strangest people that l have ever come across in football.
"And in my 20 plus years in the game, I have met hundreds of players, managers, directors and club owners, so that’s saying something!
"I have read and heard his recollection of our telephone conversations and have given them the credit they deserve and promptly dispatched them into the bin."

Anderson also attacked Vince’s vegan beliefs, and the ‘No Ken Do’ T-shirts the Rovers owner has had printed, adding: "I can only imagine it’s his way of getting his 15 minutes of fame and as much free publicity as possible."
Vince tried to entice Bolton fans to Forest Green’s match against Bury with the offer of a free pint, which Anderson mocked saying he did not see where it fitted in with Rovers’ ‘green philosophy’.
SunSport this week revealed that Norwich were fuming with Bolton over a ‘six-figure’ sum owed for the wages of loanees Yanic Wildschut and Remi Matthews.
But Anderson insisted: "There is an agreement in place to pay what is owed from the EFL money."
After his unlikely claim that he has had ‘lots of well-wishes from supporters’, Anderson finished his diatribe by quoting Winston Churchill: "If you’re going through hell, keep going."
Wanderers fans are certainly going through hell and some supporters likened their chairman to another political figure, saying he had gone ‘full Trump.’
To make matters worse, the club were also yesterday hit with winding-up orders from HMRC and the Stellar Agency.
