Ashley Zaat calls for axed darts walk-on girls to return ahead of her last appearance
Dutch model is unhappy PDC Europe have canned walk-on girls for 2019 – 12 months after models were axed from accompanying darts players on British TV
STUNNING Ashley Zaat will this weekend become the last ever darts walk-on girl following PC rules brought in a year ago.
Dutch Ashley has used Instagram to have a pop at the decision to stop models accompanying players to the oche - a practice that ran for more than two decades.
She posted an image on Instagram of her in a T-Shirt which said: “DARTS ESSENTIALS – Dart Board (tick), Beer (tick), Walk-on girls (?).”
In January 2018, The Sun broke the news that glamour models Daniella Allfree and Charlotte Wood would no longer accompany darts players for all UK TV events.
The policy remained in place on the continent for PDC European Tour events but darts chiefs have stopped for the 2019 season.
Zaat will feature for the last time in an exhibition event in Cologne this weekend alongside world champion Michael van Geren and legends Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld on German TV.
Zaat was a walk-on girl during the 2018 PDC world championships at Alexandra Palace and she said: “Tomorrow (Saturday) will be my last tournament for now as a walk-on girl on TV for the PDC Europe.
“Not because I don’t want it anymore but because walk on girls are no longer allowed in the darts.

“The reason why doesn’t make any sense...But just as the PDC stopped last year with the ladies, PDC Europe is joining them.”
“I have greatly enjoyed the work and will certainly take it as an experience with me in the future. So do you want to see me shine one more time as a walk on girl on TV? #SupportTheWalkOnGirls.”
