BOURNEMOUTH have completed a loan deal for Liverpool ace Nathaniel Clyne amid the growing injury crisis for Eddie Howe.
The Cherries pulled out all the stops to pip Cardiff to the full-back's signature as they look to replace Simon Francis and Adam Smith, who are both sidelined with long-term injuries.
The England international — who has a contract with Liverpool until 2020 — has been restricted to just four Premier League games this campaign.
Clyne was a regular starter in his first two seasons at Anfield after joining from Southampton but he has since been usurped by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock was originally favourite to land the 27-year-old after the two had worked together at Crystal Palace.
But Clyne revealed it was Howe who sweet talked him, he said: : “I’m really excited by this opportunity. It’s great chance for me to come and play football.
“I’ve spoken to the manager and we’ve talked about what we can achieve for the remainder of the season.
"It’s a great club with a great story. I can’t wait to get going.”
Howe said: “Nathaniel is vastly experienced and has the benefit of being able to play in a couple of positions for us.
“With Simon Francis’ injury we felt it was important to bring someone in capable of filling that void, and it’s great to have Nathaniel on board.
“Naturally, he wants to play football and is very keen to bring his attributes to the team. We’re excited about what he can deliver for us.”

Jurgen Klopp was willing to let the 14-cap international leave this month, knowing he has other players in his squad who can cover Alexander-Arnold.
Fabinho has played at right-back for Brazil and James Milner could do the job. He also has Joe Gomez, although the youngster is currently out injured.
Fulham and Leicester were also both believed to be keen in signing up the right-back but Bournemouth won the race.
The Cherries are set for a busy transfer window as they look to fend off interest from Chelsea for star striker Callum Wilson.
Wilson has been one of the stars in Bournemouth's season and his goal in the 3-3 draw with Watford was his ninth of the campaign.
