Man United fans given ‘best Christmas present ever’ after the club sack Jose Mourinho
MANCHESTER UNITED fans believe they have been given the "best Christmas present ever" after the club sacked Jose Mourinho.
Man City fan Liam Gallagher admitted he was "gutted" after the Reds confirmed the 55-year-old would leave with immediate effect.
Mourinho has left the club slumped at sixth in the Premier League table and 19 points behind Liverpool.
As a result, some fans on Twitter decided to celebrate that his reign in the hotseat has ended.
One social media user said: "Today we celebrate... #MOURINHO HAS BEEN SACKED.... YES! Best Christmas present ever."
While another added: "Utd fans just got their Christmas present #Mourinho."
Another excited fan simply put: "BEST DAY EVER #MOURINHO."
But one fan asked Oasis legend Gallagher: "What do you think about Jose Mourinho? He left Manchester United."
And the 46-year-old simply responded: "GUTTED."
Michael Carrick is now expected to take the reins at Old Trafford, but the club will look externally for a caretaker manager.
And Mourinho is set to walk away from the struggling club with a whopping £24million payout.
Fans on Twitter claimed the Portuguese chief does not deserve his payout for doing a "terrible" job while in charge.

His departure comes just ten days after his agent said SunSport's sacking reports were not true.
