Man Utd news: Romelu Lukaku’s odds slashed for shock Chelsea return in January
Belgium international has struggled this term with just two goals for the Red Devils since mid September
ROMELU LUKAKU'S odds of returning to Chelsea in January have drastically tumbled after a dissapointing season with Manchester United.
The striker has gone from 10/1 to just 4/1 to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.
The bookies' price shifted after a string of reports suggested the Belgium international was seeking a move away from Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old is unhappy with Jose Mourinho and he could look to Chelsea as an escape route.
The Blues are believed to be in the market for a striker as Maurizio Sarri is yet to be convinced by Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.
Lukaku's poor form saw him endure a goal drought which stretched over 12 matches before their game against Southampton.
Coral: Romelu Lukaku next club
Chelsea 4/1
Juventus 5/1
PSG 8/1
Roma 10/1
Real Madrid 16/1
Inter Milan 20/1
Arsenal 33/1
's Harry Aitkenhead said: "Sarri has made no secret of his desire to sign a striker and with Lukaku appearing to be beginning to engineer a move away it could well be a perfect match. We've slashed the odds on it happening this January.
"It may seem unlikely that United would sell to Chelsea at such a time in the season but we've seen the clubs do business before in this window, back when Juan Mata moved north from London, so you cannot rule it out."
Lukaku was Chelsea from 2011-2014 but only made ten appearances after being sent out on loan to West Brom and Everton.
