Arsenal boss Unai Emery worried after Rob Holding is carried off on a stretcher with ‘big’ knee injury
Defender was replaced by Stephan Lichtsteiner following a collision with Manchester United star Marcus Rashford
ARSENAL suffered a huge blow when Rob Holding left the pitch on a stretcher after he appeared to injure his left knee.
And Gunners boss Unai Emery admitted he was worried at the end of the game after saying he has been told it's a "big injury".
The English defender, 23, was replaced by Stephan Lichtsteiner after 36 minutes of the clash against Manchester United.
Holding clutched his left leg as he fell to the ground after a collision with Marcus Rashford, with medics checking him over on the side of the pitch before the decision was made for Unai Emery to replace him.
A crowd of Manchester United supporters sitting close to the touchline gave the 23-year-old a round of applause as he left the pitch.
But at the end of the 2-2 draw, Emery's concern was clear: "The worst news is the Rob Holding injury, the doctors think maybe it is a big injury but we are going to wait (to find out), it is his knee.
"Ramsey I think is a small injury but they showed us that afterwards every player responded with a good quality."
Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring after 26 minutes before Anthony Martial levelled the scoring four minutes later.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, ex-Leicester City star Robbie Savage predicted that Holding suffered ligament damage.
He said: "It looks like knee ligament damage and the medical team were possibly doing tests on the side of the field.
"He stood up and was in a lot of pain. It is a shame because he has been playing well."
