Floyd Mayweather sent a warning by his New Year’s Eve opponent Tenshin Nasukawa
JAPANESE kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa has sent Floyd Mayweather a warning ahead of their clash on New Year's Eve.
The duo are expected to compete in a nine-minute exhibition bout in Tokyo after the unbeaten American confirmed the fight will take place.
Both men took part in a press conference to announce the fight earlier this month in the Far East.
But Mayweather, 41, later claimed that the proposed encounter was off after stating he had "never agreed" to it, and had been "completely blindsided".
The exhibition bout however is now believed to be going ahead, and Nasukawa has taken to Instagram to claim his speed will prove to be the difference.
Posting a picture of himself and Mayweather, he said: "Ok Floyd, change your mind? I see we are doing this now.
";I got a lot to prove, don’t underestimate me.
"My speed > your experience."
Nasukawa geared up for the bout with a stoppage win last weekend, as he brutally knocked out Taiki Naito in the first round.
Promoter Nobuyuki Sakakibara - president of RIZIN Fighting Federation which is behind the fight - has claimed that the misunderstanding with the 1996 Olympic bronze medallist has been cleared up.

He said on Twitter: "The misunderstanding with Floyd Mayweather has been resolved.
“He will fight with Tenshin Nasukawa on New Years Eve for RIZIN 14.
"I will explain the details once I am back in Japan.”
UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov has also vowed to take on the five-weight world champion inside the squared circle - declaring he will knock him out.
