Claudio Ranieri’s Fulham backed more than Man City and Liverpool to win the Premier League next season

Cottagers are the exact same price as Leicester were before the Italian guided them to glory in 2016

CLAUDIO RANIERI is 5000/1 to win the Premier League with Fulham next season.

The arrival of the Italian has sparked a flurry of bets on the Cottagers, with 86 per cent of all bets being placed on them to win the league next term.

While Man City and Liverpool have only been backed by four per cent and 10 per cent of punters respectively in this market.

The Cottagers are the exact same odds as Leicester were before the Italian guided the Foxes to the league title in 2016.

Following Fulham's appointment some bookies have cut the newly-promoted side's odds to 1000/1, suggesting it's more likely to happen than Leicester's achievement.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson said: “Fulham are languishing at the bottom of the league and Ranieri has a mountain to climb to even drag his new team out of a relegation battle, let alone the insurmountable task of winning the title.

"Although, many were left regretting their decision not to back Leicester at the same odds, so we're sure to see some speculative punting on Fulham this time round."

Ranieri proved he can make the unthinkable happen at the King Power, but his objective this term is to avoid relegation.

The 67-year-old swiftly replaced Slavisa Jokanovic at Craven Cottage after the Serb was the previous odds-on favourite in the sack race.

Fulham have lost seven games in a row and sit bottom of the Premier League - leaving them among the favourites to go down.

But punters are backing Fulham to turn things around and survive, with 68 per cent of all bets this morning in this market backing them to stay up.
