Cristiano Ronaldo shows off £1.2m diamond-encrusted watch as Juventus star prepares to face Manchester United

Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford tonight with the Serie A giants ahead of a mouth-watering Champions League clash

CRISTIANO RONALDO made quite the impression at his press conference on Monday ahead of an emotional return to Manchester United – sporting a stunning £1.2million diamond-encrusted watch.

The 33-year-old, who joined United’s Champions League opponents Juventus in a deal worth up to £99m, caught the eye with his latest timepiece.

The watch, valued at £1.2m, is similar to one which rapper Wizkid bought back in July

The blingy Franck Muller watch sparkled on CR7s wrist as he addressed the media.

Ronaldo’s latest accessory is finished with 424 glistening white diamonds.

A similarly flashy customised watch was purchased by rapper Wizkid back in July.

It is quite the upgrade for the Portuguese star after he has previously been spotted with a £100,000 Jacob and Company limited edition H24 on his wrist, which had a total diamond weight of 15.25 carats.

Ronaldo became a brand ambassador for Jacob&Co back in 2013 while he was still on Real Madrid’s books.

Ronaldo is back in Manchester to take on his former club in an eagerly anticipated Group H showdown at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo’s statement piece caught the eye of the assembled media as he spoke alongside boss Massimiliano Allegri on Monday having arrived at Manchester airport earlier in the day.

He was quizzed on his feelings about returning to the club he spent six trophy-laden years at – however the main issue in hand was the rape allegation that is currently hanging over him.

Model Kathryn Mayorga alleges the Portuguese ace raped her in a Vegas hotel in 2009.

Mayorga, 34, says she was subsequently paid £288,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement and has since been inspired to come forward and tell her story.

But Ronaldo has consistently maintained his innocence, insisting that the sex was consensual following a night of drinking – reiterating that stance in Manchester yesterday.

He said: “I know I am an example (when asked if he was a role model).

“I know, 100 per cent, on the pitch and outside the pitch.

“So I am always smiling, I am a happy man, I’m blessed that I play for a fantastic club, I have a fantastic family, I have four kids, I am healthy. I have everything.

“So the rest, it doesn’t interfere on me. I’m very, very well.”
