Mourinho is still the clear favourite in the Premier League sack race at 11/8.

And if it all goes wrong on his return to Stamford Bridge, he could be sacked before Manchester United's next home game.

The Red Devils' next match at Old Trafford is against Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus in the Champions League.

Alex Kostin of  said: “It’s desperate times for Mourinho as punters now speculate that thanks to his touchline ban, he may never set foot in a United dugout again.

"The betting firmly suggests the Chelsea fans are likely to have the last laugh and the chance of a second United comeback in as many games looks very limited.”

Odds have also been offered on the home Chelsea crowd rubbing further salt in Mourinho’s wounds by taunting the Special One.

With 'Jose Mourinho, we want you to stay' to be chanted at 1/5 while it looks an even greater certainty at 1/20 that the home fans sing "he’s getting sacked in the morning".
