Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov suspended for ten days by Nevada regulator
Pair are already in trouble with Dana White but the state of Nevada also has something to say after Las Vegas fight
NEVADA fight regulators are suspending UFC fighters Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor for a brawl inside and outside the octagon after their match last weekend in Las Vegas.
Nevada Athletic Commission executive Bob Bennett says letters were sent Wednesday informing both fighters they'll be suspended for ten days, effective Oct. 15.
The fighters' managers did not immediately respond Thursday to messages seeking comment.
After McGregor tapped out in the fourth round of UFC 229 on Saturday, Nurmagomedov scuffled with a fighter in McGregor's corner and members of Nurmagomedov's entourage climbed into the octagon and attacked McGregor.
Bennett says video shows McGregor also tried to climb out of the cage at T-Mobile Arena.
Bennett says the fighters can appeal his action to the commission. It meets Oct. 24.
The ban comes on the back of Khabib’s threat to quit UFC if teammate Zubaira Tukugov is suspended for his role in the ruckus.
Khabib wrote on social media: “I would like to address @ufc/ Why didn’t you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?
“Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started.
“If you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go the end for my Brother.”
