FA accused of sexism after saying England women ‘scrub up well’ on social media
The FA posted a picture of the Women's squad on their official Twitter account prior to Tuesday night's match with the accompanying controversial message
THE FA were last night accused of sexism for a post on the England women's team Twitter account.
A photo was posted to the account before the the 1-1 draw with Australia at Craven Cottage with the caption "Scrub up well, don't they?".
Phil Neville's side remain unbeaten following their two friendlies in October.
The Lionesses were hoping to build on their impressive 1-0 victory over Brazil women on Saturday at the home of Premier League outfit Fulham.
However, ex-Manchester United man Neville will have been frustrated that his side didn't pick up another win - after dominating proceedings by and large.
They looked to be heading for a second straight victory after Fran Kirby - who also notched against the Brazilians - found the net after 21 minutes.
However, Clare Polkinghorne struck six minutes from time to ensure an under-strength Australian side came away with a 1-1 draw.
