LIVERPOOL ace Naby Keita has been released from hospital and could be fit to face Manchester City this weekend.
The midfielder, 23, was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after he injured his back during Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Napoli.
According to , the Guinea international is "fine" after being assessed for back pain at a hospital in Naples.
The examinations did not show any serious issue and the 23-year-old was given the all clear to return to the team hotel.
Jurgen Klopp's men will fly back to Merseyside today ahead of this weekend's crunch clash with City.
After the incident, Liverpool confirmed: "Liverpool Football Club can confirm Naby Keita was taken to hospital in Naples on Wednesday evening during the first half of the Champions League fixture with SSC Napoli.
"The midfielder started the game at the Stadio San Paolo, but was substituted inside the opening 20 minutes and replaced by Jordan Henderson after alerting the team’s medical staff to back pain.
"Keita was transferred to a local hospital with the club doctor, where - with the midfielder’s agreement - he underwent a number of precautionary health checks to assess his condition.
"Liverpool are scheduled to remain in Italy until Thursday morning before flying back to England."
Liverpool's medical team will now closely monitor Keita's progress and he could return to training on Friday.
But Klopp could decide to rest the 23-year-old - like he did for Liverpool's last league match against Chelsea.
Liverpool, who are second in the Premier League, lost the match 1-0 after Lorenzo Insigne snatched a late winner.
