Conor McGregor pens six-fight UFC deal which includes promotion of his whisky ahead of Khabib Nurmagomedov showdown
CONOR MCGREGOR has signed a new six-fight deal with UFC.
Terms have not been disclosed, but UFC president Dana White said the agreement could make McGregor the most money in sport.
The 30-year-old Irishman’s six fights include the matchup with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 on Oct 6.
Speaking to , White said: “It’s not hard to do a deal with Conor McGregor because we know what he’s worth.”
White also confirmed pay-per-view buys for UFC 229 – main evented by McGregor battle with Nurmagomedov for the world lightweight championship- were almost reaching 2.5million.
The record buy-rate for a UFC event was for Notorious’ rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 which saw 1.6m tune in.
The deal will also include McGregor’s new Proper Twelve Whiskey brand as a sponsor in each one of his fights.
When asked if the logo will be present in the octagon, McGregor said: “You bet your b******s it is. On the canvas. On the canvas. Like [Nurmagomedov’s] blood will be on the canvas.”

UFC 229 marks the much-loved star’s return to UFC after two years away since his last fight ended in a second round TKO against Eddie Alvarez.
McGregor was stripped of the lightweight belt because of inaction, and Nurmagomedov took the title over on April 8.
