Ben Stokes forced to wait THREE MONTHS before finding out whether he will be punished over street brawl
Stokes was cleared of affray after his part in a boozy brawl in Bristol a year ago, and the cricket disciplinary board will now hear his case at the end of this year allowing him to tour Sri Lanka next month
BEN STOKES must wait another three months before learning if he is to be punished further for his street fight.
The Durham all-rounder’s hearing has been scheduled for December 5.
It is likely to last two days meaning it will have been more than a year after the incident took place and Stokes will still be in the dark about his fate.
Although the fall-out from Stokes’ Bristol bust-up on September 25 last year continues to drag on, the delay means he can tour Sri Lanka in October and November without distractions.
The cricket discipline commission, chairman by former Derbyshire batsman Tim O’Gorman, has the power to fine or suspend Stokes or apply no more sanctions.
Stokes missed the Ashes series last winter and various white ball matches.
