WAYNE Rooney is having a panic bunker built at his £20million mansion over fears of another burglary.
The ex-England skipper, targeted by a raider in 2016, wants an outbuilding dug into land near the entrance.
It will have a CCTV monitoring room, kitchen and toilet for a guard and a secure pick-up area.
The roof will be covered with turf so it blends in.
Ex-Man United ace Rooney, 32, has also applied for a higher wall.
The family will split time between their new home and the US after Rooney joined DC United.
Wife Coleen suffered sleepless nights and feared for their kids after their former home was broken into as Rooney played in his testimonial match in August 2016.
Ex-serviceman Robert McNamara, 25, of Scarborough, North Yorks, was jailed for two years and eight months over the burglary bid.
The Rooneys’ 40-acre estate will have a six-car garage, cinema, swimming pool, five-a-side football pitch and two fishing lakes.

In papers lodged with East Cheshire council, the star’s planning agent said: “It is essentially an outbuilding to serve the dwelling that is under construction.”
Officials will decide in September, with no objections so far.
