STEPHAN LICHTSTEINER arrived at Arsenal as Unai Emery's first signing for the Gunners.

The Switzerland international joined on a free transfer after seven seasons with Serie A champions Juventus.

When did Stephan Lichtsteiner join Arsenal?

The 34-year-old completed his move to the Premier League on 5 June, 2018.

Speaking about the transfer, Emery said: "Stephan brings huge experience and leadership to our squad.

"He's a player with great quality and with a very positive and determined attitude.

"Stephan will improve us on and off the pitch."

He began his career with Lille, before he signed for Lazio in 2008 after he rejecting an offer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Lichtsteiner then joined in Juventus in June 2011, where he made 201 appearances and scored 12 goals.

How many appearances has he made for Switzerland?

Lichtsteiner worked his way up through the Switzerland youth teams.

He made 30 appearances and scored one goal the Under-21 side.

For the senior squad, the 34-year-old has made 103 appearances and scored eight goals.

The defender was named in Switzerland's 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup.

And he became the fourth Swiss star to earn 100 international caps when he played in the final warm-up game against Japan.

He was fined 5,000 Swiss francs for his controversial celebration during the 2-1 win over Serbia in Russia.
