LIVERPOOL are reportedly sending officials out to Turkey this week to secure World Cup star Domagoj Vida's signature.
Besiktas have put a £27m price tag on the Croatian defender, but Liverpool seem undeterred by the fee.
Vida, 29, caught the attention of many Premier League clubs thanks to his performance at the World Cup, where he helped his country reach their first ever final.
It has allowed his Turkish club to be in the position where they can turn down offers for the defender.
Turkish newspaper reported that they have already rejected a bid from Everton and West Ham's £20m offer also fell short of their expectations.
The defender is contracted until 2022 with Besiktas and is currently enjoying an extended break following his World Cup antics.
If Liverpool were to bring the Croatian to Anfield it would enable Dejan Lovren to link up with his international team-mate and defensive partner.
The move would certainly please Liverpool fans after Lovren's tumultuous season.
Should Liverpool make the move, it would be their fifth signing of the summer thus far.
They have strengthened their squad substantially by bringing Alisson, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri on board.
