ARSENAL are rumoured to be closing in on their sixth signing of the summer as they look to secure Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
It would be their second shot-stopper signing, as they already brought Bernd Leno on board from Bayer Leverkusen.
But with news that Liverpool have strengthened their squad, with Alisson between the posts, Arsenal are following suit and look to be trying to bolster their team too.
Sunsport previously told you that Petr Cech has been linked with Roma- which may now be even more likely given that Alisson has moved to Anfield.
Which would mean that Unai Emery is looking for an alternative for the 36-year-old; step forward Swiss No.1 keeper Sommer.
The 29-year-old was one of Switzerland's stand-out stars of the World Cup and has featured prominently for his Bundesliga side, Borussia Monchengladbach.
According to Spanish media outlet , Emery is keen to bring Sommer to north London to keep Leno on his toes, fighting for his spot.
Leno hasn't got his career with the Gunners off to a flying start, after a mistake in a preseason fixture against London rivals Brentford cost the Premier League side the game.
Emery may have to move quickly and fend off Barcelona who are also considering making a move for Sommer, as a replacement for Jasper Cillessen.
Securing a new keeper seem to be the move of the summer, with Chelsea also having to eye up replacements in case Thibaut Courtois moves to Real Madrid.
