A HOST of stars from across the planet descended on Los Angeles yesterday for an historic night at the ESPY Awards.
Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick hosted the event - becoming the first woman to do so.
ESPN's annual celebration of all things sports brought out a number of big names, with several threatening to steal the spotlight on the red carpet.
A range of greats from boxing, football, gymnastics, golf, bobsleigh and the NFL were in attendance to watch the action unfold.
And wrestling giants WWE were well represented as well as SmackDown Live female grapplers Charlotte Flair, who wore a Nadine Merabi jumpsuit, and Lana Perry dazzled in front of the cameras upon their arrival.
A lot of the focus was on Patrick, but it was another group of women who stole the show.
Survivors of the USA gymnastics sex abuse scandal involving shamed Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar were recognised for their bravery when they were awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
And they were joined by 141 other victims of the disgraced doctor on stage in a powerful ending to the bash.
Comedy was also on the agenda, and laughter filled the room when Patrick joined ex-NBA ace Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in channelling their favourite Game of Thrones characters.
Despite not being in attendance, new Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo was still able to add another award to his collection.
The 33-year-old was unable to stop Portugal from being eliminated in the last-16 of the World Cup.
However, he still beat Lionel Messi, Mo Salah and Neymar to be crowned Best International Men's Soccer Player.
Tennis legend Roger Federer, who made history in winning Wimbledon for an eighth time in 2017 and won the 2018 Australian Open for his 20th Grand Slam title, was also recognised.
The Swiss ace landing the award for Best Record-Breaking Performance.
