Amir Khan vs Samuel Vargas: Live stream, TV channel and undercard for Bolton favourite’s second comeback fight
Ex-world champ faces another Canadian-based opponent in second comeback fight after demolishing Phil Lo Greco
AMIR KHAN needed just 39 seconds to demolish Phil Lo Greco in April after nearly two years out of the ring.
So fight fans the world over eagerly await his next bout against Colombian Samuel Vargas.
Bolton favourite Khan’s lengthy absence saw the former unified light-welterweight world champion become almost as well known as a ‘Get Me Out of Here’ celebrity than top-rated fighter.
But the 31-year-old is working his way towards another big-name bout and expects a much tougher test against the Canada-based Vargas, who is ranked No 10 by the WBA.
Vargas, 29, is saying all the right things in insisting that Khan should forget about another early victory.
He has warned the UK favourite he’ll “give him hell” and to prepare for a punishing battle.
When does Amir Khan take on Samuel Vargas?
The fight takes place at Arena Birmingham on Saturday, September 8.

What has Khan had to say about his opponent?
He says: “Vargas is a tough and well-schooled fighter, who has shared the ring with some top welterweights including Danny Garcia and Errol Spence Jr.
“I have to get past Vargas before looking at the biggest challenges going forward. I’m not going to be taking Vargas lightly because I know he will be coming with everything.”
And Vargas of Khan?
He insists: “I am excited to step in the ring with Amir Khan.
“I have been granted more than enough time to properly prepare for Amir and you will see the best Samuel Vargas to date.
“Mark my words, we might both be from the same city and county but I am nothing like Phil Lo Greco. That’s a guarantee – I’m going to give Amir hell.”
