Did Serena Williams receive a wild card?

Seedings for the Grand Slam, which begins on July 2, are expected to be announced on Wednesday.

For Wimbledon, seedings will follow the world rankings - which does not protect players that have been absent due to pregnancy.

But fans and tennis players from around the world have suggested that Williams deserves to be seeded regardless of her recent activity.

What rank is Serena Williams following the birth of her daughter?

The 23-time major winner, who is married to Alexis Ohanian, is ranked 181st after her time away from tennis.

She returned to action for the first time since giving birth at the 2018 French Open.

But the American was forced to pull out of the tournament because of an injury.

Williams later revealed that she had issues with her right pectoral muscle.
