Stoke star Peter Crouch wanted by Parma in shock swoop after Serie A promotion
Italian side are keen to bolster their attack having scored just 57 goals in 42 league matches
PARMA are lining up a shock swoop for Peter Crouch ahead of their return to the top-flight.
The popular striker and his Stoke City team-mates are still coming to terms with relegation from the Premier League.
However, SportItalia claim the 37-year-old could find himself back in the top tier next season... in ITALY.
Parma secured their place in Serie A by finishing second last term.
But they are desperate to bolster their attack having scored just 57 goals in 42 league matches.
And that has led them to consider an approach for the giant England international.
Crouch, who bagged six for Stoke during their doomed campaign, recently signed an extension to his Potters deal.
New manager Gary Rowett is expected to make a number of changes this summer.

He is close to finalising a £12m move for Wolves striker Benik Afobe.
And the sale of Crouch would free up room in his squad and on the wage bill to strengthen his attack further.
Parma have also been linked with an interest in Southampton’s Italy international Manolo Gabbiadini.
The Emilian side were relegated to Serie D back in 2015 because of bankruptcy.
That forced them to start again in the semi-pro leagues.
But they have shot back up the pyramid and sealed a romantic return to the top division last month.
