BBC commentator will feature on John Motson's one-off Motty Mastermind show
JONATHAN PEARCE has one of the most recognisable voices in English football.
The 58-year-old is set to star on Motty Mastermind as John Motson hosts his own edition of the quiz show.
Who is Jonathan Pearce?
He is a much-loved voice for BBC and he is renowned for his loud and passionate commentary.
The 58-year-old has previously worked for Radio Five Live and Match of the Day.
And last but not least, he also worked on popular TV show Robot Wars.
He had always wanted to become a footballer, but his career was ended after he broke his leg in 1974.
As a result, he began his career in broadcasting at BBC Radio Bristol.
He then moved to London and Capital Radio in 1987 before he began commentating for Sky Sports in the 1992-93 season.
Why is he appearing on Motty Mastermind?
The commentator will be one of four guests on the one-off edition of the quiz show.
Motson, who recently retired after a 50 year career, will be asking the questions from the iconic black seat.
Ex-England and Arsenal legend Alex Scott, former boxing star Anthony Crolla and record-breaking swimmer Mark Foster will all be taking part.
When is Motty Mastermind?
The show will be televised on Saturday, May 19.
It will start at 8:30pm on BBC Two.
