Liverpool legend Martin Skrtel suffers horror head injury needing ten stitches in hospital during Fenerbahce game against Kasimpasa
Slovak hardman received the gash on his head during his team Fenerbahce's Turkish league game
MARTIN SKRTEL refused to be substituted despite being left with a horror five-inch gash on his head.
The former Liverpool hardman is now turning out for Fenerbahce, and was involved in a sickening collision during his side's game against Kasimpasa.
But the Slovakian centre-half, well known during his time in the Premier League for his no-nonsense defending, was not chucking in the blood-soaked towel.
He played on with a bandage and a fetching hairnet before five stitches were put in at half-time in the Fenerbahce dressing room.
Incredibly the 33-year-old played out the remainder of the game, helping his side to a 4-1 victory in the Super Lig clash.
After the game he was then whisked to hospital where another five stitches were put in the gruesome wound.
Skrtel, who played for Liverpool for eight years between 2008 and 2016, uploaded photos showing the aftermatch to his social media accounts.
His blood-spattered shirt was show to millions, as was a graphic photo of his head with open wound.
