CM Punk sparks Twitter outrage as he gets UFC 225 spot – despite not fighting since disastrous debut two years ago
Fans complain WWE star is only included for publicity reasons - while established icons like Holly Holm and Megan Anderson miss out
WHAT a Punk shocker!
WWE star CM Punk is facing the music on Twitter after a controversial decision to include him at UFC 225.
The 39-year-old Yank has not fought since his dire debut at UFC 203 in 2016 when Mickey Gall dispatched him in just 134 seconds.
And many UFC fans believe Punk is on this year's list for his pull in the box office, rather than his prowess in the ring.
Established names like Holly Holm and Megan Anderson have failed to make a promotional poster for the octagon event in Illinois, Chicago, on June 9.
And IronLion summed up the tweet bleats.
He said: "It's so plain disrespectful to the many warriors who have been in UFC for years that CM Punk gets a main card spot and on a poster.
"I'm all for CM Punk doing what he wants to do, but UFC needs to realise that the integrity of the brand is worth more than the extra $ his name brings."

And Daniel Paul asked: "How does CM Punk even make the poster after that debut? Crazy."
Punk had not even fought as an amateur before he was thrown in at Cleveland two years ago.
And Gall soon showed the gulf in class.
Now, though, Punks team reportedly believe he a different fighter - after practicing hard for many months.
His opponent at UFC 225 will be Mike "The Truth" Jackson, 33.
