The strait-laced Arsenal boss, 68, kicked off celebrations right across the world when news broke on Friday that he was leaving the Gunners after 22 sometimes frustrating years. Within minutes, bars from London to Uganda had taken to social media to advertise their boozy “Wenger Out” bashes.

Ugandans headed to clubs in the capital Kampala for Wenger exit parties where there was live music, shots, and one club even offered discounts on whiskey for the special occasion.
Gunners fans flocked to venues in East London to party until 4am and celebrate the end of a losing era with fans wearing jerseys receiving free entry to wish Wenger a happy retirement.
A swanky rooftop bar and grill in Kenya’s capital Nairobi hosted a “Wenger eviction party” where Arsenal fans munched on greasy burgers and downed pints.
One Arsenal fan hosted his own party of one in a hotel in North Cyprus to celebrate the happy news, posting a picture on Instagram of a large pint and three bowls of nuts in a bar.
As parties popped up across Nigeria to celebrate the news, a fruit juice brand suggested fans celebrate with a glass of grape juice - we think they slurped something a little stronger.
A Gambian Gooner tweeted that he was planning a “a big Gambian party tonight” for Wenger and insisted the manager should get a “decent reception” after his time at the club.
Hipsters flocked to trendy Dalston in London to drink the night away in tribute to the manager as a club held an “official” Wenger Party with party-goers grinding to R&B and hip hop.
Delighted with the news, one Ugandan fan tweeted: “Will I miss Wenger? No. Will I remember him? Maybe! I’ll throw a party and slaughter a fat bull to celebrate his exit.”
Some of the Wenger parties were a little saucy with one Arsenal fan tweeting from Kenya that he was planning on recruiting some strippers to see out Wenger in style.
