The West Midlands club also won the Championship in 1931/32, 1976/77 and 2008/09.

Wolves have won 30 of their 44 matches in the second tier this season, with eight draws and six defeats.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men only needed a point against Bolton to clinch the title, but they secured in sublime style at the Macron Stadium.

Barry Douglas opened the scoring after 16 minutes with a left-footed strike from the side of the box.
