ANTHONY JOSHUA is fighting the urge to lash out at Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury as they continue to goad the Watford hero.

AJ is now the unified champion with the WBA, IBF and WBO belts, with only Wilder’s WBC missing and Fury’s lineal title for being the man to dethrone Wladimir Klitschko first.

And the Team GB golden boy is the biggest ticket in boxing, generating life-changing sums with every fight for himself and his lucky opponent.

But instead of conducting negotiations behind closed doors, American Wilder and the Gypsy King have pestered him on social media and insulted his talents.

Joshua told Sky Sports: “When you’re a fighter you can’t let certain things slide.

“Sometimes you use it as fuel but, at the same time, when you’re hearing it constantly you have to let it slide off your back. It’s hard, though.

“It’s a balance because, even though I try to keep it professional and I don’t want to bite back.

“I’ve got that fight instinct. Sometimes you need to give as good as you get.”

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren says the former champ is three or four fights away from a title challenge, ruling him out of the immediate running while Wilder insists he is ready to sign.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn – in charge of making AJ’s fights – insists Wilder is all talk and Josh says he is desperate to get his rival in a private room to seal the deal.

The 28-year-old said: “I’d rather do it face-to-face. That’s what I’m waiting for. That’s what I’ve always said.

“Even though Fury went through what he went through, I hoped for his return so he can fight soon.

“Wilder – we’re looking at negotiations to see whether we can get that going.

“There’s a lot of talk across the pond but it will be good when we come face-to-face.”
