Amir Khan is joined by new trainer Joe Goossen in final preparations for Phil Lo Greco fight
King Khan returns to the ring for the first time in almost two years and admits he is 'nervous' about his future
AMIR KHAN is joined by new trainer Joe Goossen in his final preparations for his comeback fight against Phil Lo Greco.
King Khan, 31, returns to the ring for the first time in almost two years against the Canadian in Liverpool next Saturday.
He admits he is a “little bit nervous” ahead of his first fight in England for five years – but insists he is in perfect shape to win.
Khan said: “I am a little bit nervous but I know my fitness is right. I’ve trained hard for this.
“I do feel a lot better than I did at 28. I’m 31 now, I’m at the peak of my career, I know I have a bit left in me to come back.

“I want to win another world title, that’s what keeps me going.”
Khan has been training with California-based Joe Goossen since late March.
The former light-welterweight champ split with Virgil Hunter due to his health problems.
And Khan reckons he is benefiting from his new man’s watchful eye.
He said of Goossen: “He’s a trainer that’s always watching you. When I’m training he’ll always be watching me, I’ve seen videos of him just watching me.
“He doesn’t take his eyes off me, seeing what mistakes I’m making.
“He tells me while I’m trying, ‘Amir, your left hand’s dropping, your right hand’s dropping, keep your hands up higher’.
“He keeps you sharp but at the same time those things have become a habit, I’m not making silly mistakes.”
And the Brit star is looking at superfights against Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook in the near future.
Khan told talkSPORT: “I’ll get the Lo Greco fight out of the way. I’m not looking past it but I want to slowly step up and maybe in the future get like a Manny Pacquiao or Kell Brook.
“These are the fights I want now. It’s all about cleaning up the sport and finishing on top and winning another world title.”
